Polk State College Athletics, home of the Vikings, includes baseball, cheerleading, men’s basketball, volleyball, softball and women’s soccer. Each team from each sport has demonstrated the ability to put together strong seasons and come out winners. The Vikings were crowned Suncoast Conference Champions in three sports: baseball, basketball, and softball. The Polk State College softball team claimed its second Suncoast Conference Championship paired with three State Tournament appearances. The Vikings softball team plays its home games at Diamond Plex in Winter Haven, FL. The Diamond Plex features four fields in a giant circular pattern with two adjacent fields, as well as warm-up areas for the team and picnic areas for the family. Each field can be configured to accommodate fast-pitch softball, slow-pitch softball, or youth baseball games. All Diamond Plex fields feature bullpens and spacious dugouts. A centrally located tower overlooking the venue offers game-day conveniences such as press facilities, concession stands, and an area for scorekeepers and officials.
